How to Package and Post Your Fountain Pen
Please contact me before posting your pen so I know to expect it.
Before packing the pen:
- Empty it of ink where possible.
- Remove loose ink cartridges.
- Make sure the cap is fitted securely.
- Do not force or dismantle any damaged parts.
- Wrap the pen in soft protective material.
- Place it inside a rigid pen case, tube or strong inner box.
- Put the protected pen inside a sturdy outer postal box.
Do not send a valuable fountain pen loose inside a padded envelope.
Please include a note inside the parcel containing:
- Your full name
- Return address
- Email address
- Telephone number
- Pen brand and model, if known
- A clear description of the fault
- Details of any previous repair attempts
- Any special instructions or concerns
- Your preferred level of return insurance
Use a tracked postal service with compensation suitable for the value of the pen.
Royal Mail Tracked 48 may be suitable for lower-value pens. Royal Mail Special Delivery may be more appropriate for valuable, rare or sentimental pens.
Please retain your proof of postage and tracking information until I confirm that the pen has arrived.
