Having the tines aligned and the tip hand polished and smooth often gives a bit improvement in the smoothness and writing feel of any nib. This usually also fixes minor issues such as scratchiness and roughness, railroading and the nib not feeding ink correctly and generally improves the nib feel and writing enjoyment.
Even a more inexpensive fountaion pen nib can be brought up to a standard equivalent to far more expensive nibs.

Tuning fountain pen nibs is a skill aquired over time and done by feel with varying levels of wet polishing of the nib tib and hand adjustment of the nib and tines. I’ve gained this experience over 10 years of making and selling fountain pens. Every nib I sell is hand aligned and tuned and i’ve had extensive experience tuning nibs of various types.

Each nib takes between 30 to 90 minutes to hand align and tune (depending on its starting condition).

The price for a nib to be realigned and retuned is £50 plus shipping costs
This is payable once the work is complete and I’m satisfied the nib is of an excellent standard, or is a large improvement over what it was previously.
Turn around times are typically within 2 weeks from receipt of the pen.
