I get around 1-2 pens a week in for repair – I keep forgetting to photo them for this gallery!
November 2025 – Rugby world cup fountain pen
This Rugby world cup 2007 pen had a broken tip on the nib.
Removal of the nib was attempted but it shattered and was very brittle, the feed was jammed in and couldnt not be removed so the section was put into the lathe and drilled out the feed until it could be removed carefully with tweezers. A suitable feed and nib which fitted into the housing dimensions was identified.
Luckily, the Moonman size 6 nib (which is a great nib) was a perfect fit so that was fitted to it. The body was also given an ultrasonic clean.
October 2026 – Dropped Parker Fountain Pen
This Parker Fountain Pen was not running properly and was quite scratchy, It had been dropped so the nib was a bit bent.
Even after cleaning and flushing it still wouldn’t write properly, so I dissasembled the nib assembly, it was a clip on item so I split it apart and cleaning it again.
Once that was done it flowed properly so a nib Tune fixed the issues with writing quality, being dropped had caused the tines to be pressed together so using feeler guages I carefully got the tine spacing correct and then tuned it. All of the work took an hour.
